What our visitors have been saying
"Exceeded all expectations"
Fantastic informative, fun and educational. Great one hour trip through history of clock gate, history of youghal as well as the building itself, two adults with an 8 and 11 year old. Tour guide was excellent, don't have her name, white hair, glasses, included the children and kept them enthralled over the four floors, no problem touching things and stories told in a way to keep children interested.

"Fun, educational and innovative museum"
Excellent tour guide Shirley has mine of information on each era but makes the delivery fun and relevant to the audience. To go out on roof would be fab some day. Hope that can happen!

"Wonderful attraction for the town"
This was a building almost derelict, it is now a major attraction for the town, beautifully restored. Over four different floors there are four stories - the medieval merchant, the prison, the clock itself, the twentieth century home for one family. Each story is beautifully narrated and illustrated. The visit is with a guide. It should not be missed.
When open, the views from the parapet will be stunning. At €9 per person or €24 for a family of four the pricing might be reviewed as the visit is limited and consequently the time.

"A Historic City Gate"
Yougal is an old walled city and the Clock Gate Tower is in one of the walls along the main street of the town. It is an interesting walk just to get there, as you pass some very old structures on the way, along with modern buildings. It is quite imposing and unusual, as most city gates don't include a clock tower.
