Q. How do I experience The Youghal Clock Gate Tower?

Tours may be booked online here or in person at Youghal Tourist Office. For greater tour time choice online booking is advisable.


Q. How long should I allow for a tour of Youghal Clock Gate Tower?

Allow 1 hour for your tour. It is recommended that you assemble at the Clock Gate Steps 5 minutes before your Tour is due to commence.


Q. What can I do in advance of my tour?

Youghal Visitor/Heritage Cenrtre is the ideal place to visit in advance of your tour. It gives a wonderful overview of Youghal's rich history.  You can spend as little or as long as you like exploring the many artefacts and models of historic Youghal.

The Heritage centre is located within the Tourist Information Office on Market Square also point of Youghal Clock Gate Tower Ticket Office. 


Q. Is Youghal Clock Gate Tower open to large group tours?

Maximum number in a guided tour is 20 people.


Q. Is it possible to book a group tour online?

Yes it is possible, however, for large tour groups (greater than 20) it is recommended that you contact the booking office – telephone: 00353 24 20769.

The following supports are available for Spanish, German & French Speakers:

  • An audio overview of what to expect on the tour.
  • Hand-held information boards.

Q. Is a tour of Clock Gate Tower suitable for school children?

Very much so – The story of Youghal Clock Gate Tower is so unique and will be enjoyed by schoolchildren of all ages – and their teachers!


Q. Does the tour incorporate access to the viewing platform at the top of the building?

Access to this area is not incorporated in your tour.

Street parking in Youghal is metered, however, Youghal has 4 FREE carparks in the town, the nearest to Youghal Clock Gate is at Nealon's Quay adjacent to Youghal Tourist Office.

Q. Where is Tour starting point?

Tours begin promptly, on the hour.   It is imperative that you are in position at the entry gate to the tower 5 minutes before the tour is due to start.  For ease of movement, visitors are asked to remain outside the gate until greeted here by your storyteller.
